Lemont high college graduate awarded EMH groundwork scholarship

The Elmhurst Memorial medical institution foundation has awarded $5,000 Thomas O. Myers, Jr. and Shirley L. Myers Endowed Scholarships to Gillian Atilano of St. Charles and Nicole Grames of Downers Grove. The scholarships are awarded every year to babies of Elmhurst medical institution employees who are pursuing careers in healthcare.

Atilano, a 2020 graduate of St. Charles East excessive faculty, is a freshman at Marquette school in Milwaukee pursuing a degree in nursing. Her mom, Lelizza Atilano, is a nurse at Edward-Elmhurst fitness's instant Care in Lombard.

Grames, a 2019 graduate of Lemont high college, is a sophomore at Maryville tuition in St. Louis majoring in psychology. Her father, Glen Grames, is a pharmacist at Elmhurst health center.

The Myers Endowed Scholarships were first awarded in 2004 in appreciation for the high satisfactory and compassionate care supplied by using the workforce of Elmhurst health facility to those residing and working within the communities it serves. A scholarship committee chooses the winners every year according to tutorial success, proof of leadership and neighborhood provider, and a written essay describing their choice to pursue a profession in healthcare.
